Toronto Favourites

things to do in toronto

Happy Thursday Er’body! I’ve decided to put together my favourite things to do in Toronto for those planning a little visit. If anyone has any favourites to add, please feel free to share in the comments below. There are so many things to do and see in Toronto and I love discovering new spots :)

FOOD:

Terroni - My boyfriend and I have a serious love affair with this place. We order the same thing every.single.time. Two Santo Stefanos? Please and thank you.

Pizza Libretto - Another pizza joint we frequent on the regular. As you can see, I’m a bit of a pizza fanatic. I mean, what kind of person doesn’t like pizza? I’d say, a weirDOUGH.

Milred’s Temple Kitchen - This is my all-time favourite place to go for brunch. They don’t take resos and the place gets busy quickly so it’s best to crash the doors first thing if you can. The scones and biscuits are to die for, and Mrs. Biederhof’s Legendary Light & Fluffy Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes are the most delicious p-cakes I have ever tasted.

Le Select - This is such a special place for me as I went here on my first date with my boyfriend. We’ve been here more times than I care to admit, and have never ever been disappointed.  If you’re in the mood for good traditional French food, this is the place to go. They also have a great brunch. Eggs benny anyone?

Buca - It’s the perfect place to go for great authentic Italian food. It’s expanded over the years (woot!) with Bar Buca and Buca Yorkville which are also favourites of mine. If you go and are a pizza lover, the Burrata pizza is a must.

Fresh - My favourite clean eats in the city. There are multiple locations to eat in or take out. They have great juices too!

Colette  - I like to think of Colette as a little slice of Paris in Toronto. Open for Sunday brunch (which is an experience in itself), lunch, dinner, and even grab and go coffee and sweets. Side note: probably one of the most Instagrammed restaurants in the city (aka great photo ops! ;)

Nota Bene -  Their tuna tartare is one of my fave dishes.

The Chase Fish & Oyster - If you’re in the mood for seafood, I love going to The Chase FO. If you're feeling fancy, they also have The Chase upstairs for a more formal dining experience.

Bar Isabel - Located in Little Italy, Bar Isabel serves amazing Spainsh-influenced plates in a cozy old-world vibe. Their moto? "Eat. Drink. Be Merry." Works for me!

Gusto - Anyone that has been to Gusto knows about their Kale Salad. This is a great place to go with your girlfriends. I mean, a dollar an ounce wine? Hello!

Valdez - Delicious Latin street food, and cocktails by the litre. If you go in the summer, there is a beautiful rooftop overlooking the CN tower.

Bar Hop – For the beer lovers.

COFFEE –

Bar Buca - If you’ve been following me on Insta, you know that I am a bit of a coffee fan. This place serves my favourite Americano in the city (not to hype it up or anything).

Dark Horse Espresso Bar  - I know I am a nerd for saying this, but when I walk into the Queen West location I just feel cool (and that doesn’t happen often).

Early Bird  - Give me a latte art and I am sold. This place is also great for a coffee and wifi/work sesh.

Portland Variety - This place is anything but a variety store. When I am in the mood for some smashed avocado, sourdough, and scrambled eggs, I come here. They also have amazing coffee, sandwiches, and baked treats.

Nadege  - If you’re a macaron lover like me, this is the place to go. Period.

Dineen Coffee Co. - Lovely d├ęcor, great coffee (and latte art! ;)

Sud Forno  - One word – Bomboloni. They also have super cute floors for shoefies ;)

ACTIVITIES -

Art Gallery of Ontario - The architecture alone is absolutely stunning, with renovations done by Frank Gehry, and the curated exhibitions are consistently terrific. If you’re visiting Toronto you should go, and if you live in Toronto you should be a member.

ROM  - You’ll see dinos! Enough said.

Her Majesty's Pleasure - Champagne and mani’s, lattes and pedis… you choose. (although I tend to prefer the former). This is a nail salon, cafe, and cocktail bar all in one. What’s better than a mani and pedi on a Sunday morning? A mani and pedi with a mimo in hand, of course.

The Beaches  - You'll almost feel like you're in California.

High Park - Such a beautiful park! A must visit whether its cherry blossom season or not.

Waterfront - My favourite place to run in the city.

The Distillery District -  Historical buildings, cobble stone streets, cafes and boutiques makes this a great spot to wander through on a sunny day.

Toronto Islands - Escape the city for the day and head out on the ferry to the Islands. There are a bunch of activities to do, but my fave is to lounge beachside with an iced drink in hand.

Thompson Hotel -  Has one of the best views in the city. Have a drink on the rooftop overlooking the CN tower.

St Lawrence Market - A stroll through the market on a Saturday is one of my favourite things to do. It also comes in handy for a Saturday night homemade meal :)

Happy wandering!

One of the things I miss most about winter is jackets. I'm not one to show a lot of skin, and therefore I find a jacket the perfect layering piece. You know how some people feel naked without long hair? I feel naked without a jacket or some sort of cardigan/coverup. (I know, I am weird... right?) Anyway, keeping with my post - I was so excited when Privilege gifted me this lightweight trench from The Collective. The breezy fabric makes it my new favourite jacket for these warmer months.

This post was created in partnership with Privilege Clothing Boutique. All opinions are my own.

The Little White Dress is a staple thats always on serious repeat during the summer months. With the temps and humidity rising, it's the perfect no fuss dress to through on for just about any occasion (minus a wedding… thats a no no… but you know that ;)

Hope you're all having a great week.

I wouldn't say that I have one particular style - I tend to bounce around looks without much thought. I know what works for my body type and what doesn't, whether I'm wearing a fitted dress or ripped denim jeans.

Even though my style is fairly all over the map, I feel much more comfortable, confident and "me" being pulled together in ladylike pieces. If I had to pick one look to wear for the rest of my life (now thats a scary thought!), it would have to be a tucked in blouse, fluted skirt, and heels similar to the outfit I'm wearing above. I love how easy it is to completely transform the look with different statement jewelry and shoes. What would yours be? Would love to hear in the comments below! :)

I love wearing dresses that can be thrown on without much thought. I wear stripes all year round, but there is something about them that just scream warm weather and summer to me. I've been drawn to this J.Crew dress as my go-to for casual weekend outings, and it never seems to fail. There are so many different looks you can achieve - I like to call it my chameleon dress (a little strange, right?... but like seriously, who has names for their dresses...)

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Would love to hear about your favourite go-to summer staples in the comments below!
