I hope you all have been enjoying the holidays.

For the most part, I've been in Mont Tremblant. Despite our green Christmas, its been a lovely getaway filled with winter running, mountain hikes, bonfires, cocktail & dinner parties, great people and lots of yummy food. This was my first time roasting marshmallows in years - so delicious!

On a completely different note, I can't believe we are diving into the new year! I have so many things to be thankful for. To my followers - thank you for all your love and support. See you all in 2015.

Happy New Year!

layerd

With all this mild weather, I'm a huge fan of layering up. I love a chunky knit paired with a puffy vest. As I mentioned in my previous post, I have a bit of a thing for these vests. This red plaid is perfect for the holidays and the second addition to my puffy vest fam (and a welcome one at that.)

Hope you're all enjoying the holidays!

all that glitters

When I think of the holidays, I think of all that glitters. My little mini tree is decked out with glitter ornaments, my jewelry selection airs on the bling side, and I can't get enough of sparkly makeup and nail polishes.  This black sequin jacket is one of my favourite holiday staples. I decided to layer it with a feather vest for a festive and playful look.

Happy Holidays!

This is - hands down - my favourite puffer vest. It's the perfect layer to throw on when the weather is too mild for a coat, yet too cold for a sweater. I particularly love layering it under plaid button downs and chambray shirts. Keepin' it short and sweet today...

turtles

Today I'm talking about turtles. Given this is a fashion blog, I thought I'd talk about the non-salmonella non-caloric kind of turtles. You know - the cozy and warm type.

When I was in elementary school, I remember jumping on the turtleneck bandwagon. I had a hand full and would rotate them during the colder months like hot dogs on a roller machine. I was obsessed. As I got older, things started to change. Girls started wearing "spaghetti strap" tops and the turtlenecks simply could not compete.

I've always been a conservative dresser (I have my mom to thank for that. for realz) I never jumped on the spaghetti strap train but I did start showing off my neck and arms. So came the T- shirts, sometimes even V-necks.  (I know, how daring of me.)

There is something quite elegant about the turtleneck. With society showing more and more skin these days, it's a nice contrast.

For a long time, I would only wear black, white, or browns. It's not that I disliked colour - I disliked colour on me. Over the last year, I've been making the effort to incorporate more colour into my wardrobe (and yes! I have been doing a darn good job if I do say so myself) but more often than not, I'm drawn back to my go-to neutrals. The weather was perfect in Toronto over the weekend - it was mild enough to just wear a chunky knit and scarf. My kinda weekend :)

Happy December!
