I've discussed my love for fall a few times now (… ok, a number of times). The crisp air, the changing of leaves, apple picking… I could go on.

And with fall comes fall fashion.  Leather boots, scarves, cozy sweaters - it's safe to say I love everything about fall. Whenever I throw this coat on,  I kinda feel like I have a lion's mane similar to that of Simba's. But what can I say - I love the Lion King. Hmm... perhaps a last minute Halloween costume…

Wishing everyone a very Happy Halloween!

I  just love a classic black fedora - it's one of my favourite fall accessories (and thats saying a lot). I'm all about black and white these days. Similar to an all-black look, it's an easy outfit to pull together when you're running low on time. I decided to pair it with a boyfriend blazer, skinny jeans, and a striped sweater. The hat adds a touch more warmth to keep me cozy in the crisp autumn air.

Hope you're all enjoying this beautiful weather.

Vests are the perfect layering piece for Fall. I'm currently loving the causal look of a faux fur vest paired with a leather pant. Here, I've decided to wear all black and add a touch of texture with the vest. Just throw on some red lipstick and you got yourself an effortless fall look.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

As much as I force myself to wear bright cheerful colours, I'm naturally drawn to autumn hues when the leaves start changing colours.

This season I am all about burgundy. It's such a rich hue that can be worn in so many variations. I've done head to toe here, but I also plan to experiment with different colour combos like blue, blush pink, and green forest.

Let's talk about sales. Let me start by saying there is an art to sale shopping. Sure, that dress at 75% off seems like a start-the-car type of moment, but there is a reason its on sale.

It's easy to justify your purchase by saying something along the lines of "Well, I just saved $100." NEWSFLASH: that's your inner shopaholic speaking. You just spent (lost) $100 and have a dress you'll wear once - if you're lucky. Been there, done that.

I have a new rule when sale shopping: only buy timeless staples. I scored this No. 2 J Crew Pencil Skirt, my all-time favourite pencil skirt, in an array of different colours, on sale! I rationalized the purchase(s) by the following:

1. I can wear them into fall by adding jackets and sweaters
2. They'll still be in style come spring/summer 2015, 2016, 2017… you get the picture

Even though summer has long past, I still love incorporating colour into my wardrobe. If you work in a creative environment like myself, it's a playful twist to an otherwise black, navy or grey look.

After reasoning with myself, I was sold.

Have you ever wondered where the term "Canadian tuxedo" came from? Well my friends, look no further.

Crooner Bling Crosby was a huge lover of Levi's and was constantly rocking the denim on denim look. In 1951, he was denied entrance to the hotel because he was wearing denim. In the light of Crosby's treatment at the hotel, Levi's decided to make him a denim tuxedo jacket. There was even a special leather patch warning people to treat the wearer with respect. Cool, right?
I thought it was appropriate to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with a little Canadian flare. This look has the ability to go very wrong (google Justin and Britney circa 2001).

Here are some tips I like to keep in mind while experimenting with this trend:

1. Try different washes.
2. There should never be a 'denim on denim on denim' situation. Other words - keep it to two denim pieces.
3. Keep everything else fairly simple.
Hope all you Canadians had a lovely Thanksgiving :)

A lot of people associate camo with masculinity, but I'm a strong believer that it  looks better on women than it does men.

I like to accessorize to help keep me looking too boyish, like with red lips and gold details. Some might be tempted to play with it - perhaps try it head to toe. Warning: you will look like you're wearing army fatigues. Instead, try to select one piece like a pair of skinny jeans, vest, or jacket and pair it with neutrals such as grey, white, black. You can even have fun with bold neons or soft pastels.

My rule of thumb with dressing is experiment, but always look at yourself in a full-length mirror and ask the question "Do I look ridiculous?" Sometimes I do - and rock the outfit anyway. It all depends on where my heads at that day. (Yeah, I'm crazy).
