The key to weekend dressing for me is comfort - and nothing says comfort to me more than a great pair of kicks. Despite the cold, I've started to s l o w l y transition into Spring dressing (and by slowly I mean rather than jumping into my winter boots, I am showing a couple cm's of ankle between the top of my shoe and the bottom of my pant). How adventurous and Spring-like of me.

Here's to flannel shirts, fur coats, winter hats, and that ~2 cm of ankle exposure. Happy Spring Everyone! In all seriousness, I do believe (hope) that warmer weather is just around the corner. As much as I love my jackets, I can't wait to ditch 'em. Here's to hoping.

It's officially Spring! (as much as it doesn't feel like it) Nonetheless - Happy Spring! Hope you're having a nice weekend.

On weekends (particularly Sundays), I'm drawn to easy-to-wear, ultra comforting attire. My current go-to's are boyfriend jeans. To eliminate looking like you just raided your boyfriends closet, I like pairing them with fun accessories like a bright beanie and a bold sweater. For a more formal look, a fitted blazer and pumps will do the trick. When it comes to boyfriend jeans, the sky is really the limit. You can dress them up, dress them down, and everywhere in between.

my loves

leopard print wrap

Hat: Topshop / Wrap: Ann Taylor / Sunglasses: Karen Walker / Boots: Topshop

I could write endlessly over my love for dogs.

They're always there for you when you need them. They never judge - just love you the way you are. When you're happy, they're happy. When you're sad, they're there to comfort you. They're a (wo)man's best friend.

I've always had at least one dog in my life and can't imagine my life without one. We currently have two - Louis and Eloise. Louis, the lab, used to be a real ankle biter. He's gotten A LOT better with age. Eloise, the pug, is what you'd consider a "senior citizen" in dog years. She's not as energetic as she used to be (if there is food involved its a different story).

They're not only "my dogs" -  their two of my closest friends and a big part of my family.

how to: kate spade inspired diy art

I have a slight obsession with all things gold. This DIY was inspired by the gold dots popping up all over Kate Spade stationary recently. It's a very simple DIY project that adds a bit of playfulness to my place. I am planning to hang these on a diagonal up my staircase.

What you'll need:
- Canvas
- 1 inch hole punch
- Glue (I used Weldbond)
- Paintbrush
- Gold paper
- Hanging wire and hooks

A few very simple steps:
I first punched out the gold dots (I used about 12 per canvas). I then painted glue on the backside of each of the dots (and placed a heavier object overtop to ensure the edges didn't lift and let set) Note: Don't place too heavy an object or it will damage the canvas.

So simple, yet so fun :)

spring flowers

From top to bottom: Red Valentino / Oilily (Vintage: it was my moms) / Alice and Olivia

I'm fully aware that we just had a massive blizzard, but I am also hopeful that spring flowers are just around the corner (after all, the glass is half full… right?)

Sometimes I have to ask myself why I (or anyone for that matter) chooses to live in Canada. I recently returned home from Costa Rica (sigh). The weather was absolutely gorgeous and made coming home all the more difficult. Top that with a sprained ankle and you have one sad girl hobbling around town. Not exactly my idea of fun.

There is however, light at the end of the tunnel (the glass is half full… the glass is half full) as such, I've decided to focus on all the good things to come. These dresses are three of my favourite spring/summer insta-happy dresses that make everything seem a little brighter.

Winter… if you can hear me - please go away. I'm so over you.

quilted affair

black rebecca minkoff quilted affair

Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Affair / Wallet: Yves Saint Laurent / Lipgloss: NARS / Bobby Pins: Goody's Metallic Collection / iPhone Case: Kate Spade

The Chanel 2.55 is my dream bag (after the Birkin… obviously.) Sadly, I don't foresee myself winning the lottery any time soon.

I've been on the search for a similar bag (without the similar price tag) for quite some time. While browsing the web, I came across this Rebecca Minkhoff bag and instantly fell in love with it. Although it lacks the burgundy interior and the double CC logo, it does have similar characteristics with its quilted diamond pattern and double chain shoulder strap.

It's my new go-to and the perfect "going out bag" to carry all my essentials.
